From OzBiz Solutions to ABCis: The History of Ezylink

A much-needed solution for retail 

Ezylink was initially developed in Nambucca Heads, on the mid-North Coast of NSW by two self-taught developers with a plan. That plan was to solve the time-consuming task of manual data entry.

As small business owners, they were well aware of the accounting reporting and product inventory needs of retail businesses. The Ezylink software was developed to simplify and automate data transfer from point-of-sale (POS) systems to the correct data categories of accounting packages.

OzBiz Solutions

OzBiz Solutions was founded in the early 2000s to provide accounting integration utilities and to distribute the Ezylink software to small and medium sized businesses. OzBiz Solutions continued to develop the software over the next 15 years to keep up with modern POS and accounting technology advancements.

From its early days with OzBiz Solutions, Ezylink has helped clients across various retail organisations, including newsagents, jewellers, plant nurseries, pharmacies, hospitality, optometrists, fuel sites, and many other specialty areas.

ABCis

One of these clients was the already well-established ABCis, who were recommending Ezylink to independent retailers as part of their business advice to their clients. The mission of ABCis to make independent retailers more profitable through process change, technology adoption, and data analysis was well aligned with OzBiz Solution’s Ezylink product.

In fact, ABCis and OzBiz Solutions had many mutual customers, so when an opportunity arose in 2020 for ABCis to acquire Ezylink and add it to their business offering, it was a no-brainer.

ABCis have continued to improve the Ezylink software and are now providing smart automation to over 750 businesses throughout Australia.

What's next for Ezylink?

Retaining Ezylink’s simplicity is core to its efficiency, flexibility, and continued effectiveness. Ezylink can be used on over 15 POS systems and connects with all the major accounting packages.

This innovative simplicity is key to Ezylink’s future evolution as a cloud or web-based application that retailers can access from anywhere. The future for Ezylink is bright, with continued team expansions to service the growing number of retail business clients around Australia, and, very soon, in global markets.
